My Birthday, by k8

I turned 26 on Sunday(10/5) and Darren and I decided that for the weekend we would go up to my parents house. We had thought of several option and after some activity research, thought this was the best. My Mom was way excited about being able to play mommy on my birthday, and promised apple pie. We also discovered that the Lustre Kings ( wedding band) were playing at the Altamont Fair for the Apple festival. So. . .
After leaving on Saturday morning, we met my parents at the fairgrounds and walked around. There was crafts, we bought peanut butter with white chocolate in it from the Saratoga Peanut butter co. We got fried dough, Apple cider, and Apple cider doughnuts. Listened to the band and gave Darren the tour of my childhood. Then we left and drove up to the top of the Heldeburg Escarpment, and to a part that I had not been to in a really long time. The pictures are from the view, and you can see 3 states from there. Ny,Vt, and Ma. and the mount
ains are really pretty right now with the leaves changing and the colorful sunsets.
On Sunday Darren and I rode the my Dad's motorcycle to and from church and on the way home took the mountain road over to Luzurne, the road follows the Hudson river and then passes a couple small Adirondack lakes. We came home to a wonderful dinner with family and friend. We dined on lasagna and salad and bread and 2 kinds of pie. Darren and I got hair cuts, and then we went home. It was a great weekend, and birthday, and a good get away for us too.
~ WE hope you all had a great weekend too!
